ABOUT THE EDUCATION CSP
The Education CSP focuses on programs and activities that promote literacy and lifetime learning.
This year the Education CSP highlighted the history of Dunedin/Palm Harbor this year. At our November meeting Terry Fortner spoke about her grandmother, Myrtle Scharrer, who grew up on Caladesi Island. She included many interesting facts including the fact that Myrtle rowed a boat to get to and from school.
Carrying this theme forward, we planned a trip to the Palm Harbor Museum, housed in the 100 year old Harley House. Our docent made the museum come alive as he described items on display and shared other facts he knew about this time period. We ended the trip with a tea party---tea and cookies---in the kitchen.
The Education CSP will continue to collect labels, Box Tops for Education, can tabs, and used ink cartridges. Please drop them in the containers that will be out at each meeting.
